We’re hearing reports that Giovanni will have Shadow Ho-Oh in his grasp from Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 12:00 a.m. to Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 12:00 a.m. local time. You can complete the latest Team GO Rocket Special Research, A Seven-Colored Shadow, to earn a Super Rocket Radar. This will help you track down the Team GO Rocket Boss and save Shadow Ho-Oh!

Giovanni will have Shadow Zapdos in his grasp from Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 12:00 a.m. until Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 12:00 a.m. local time. If you haven’t already, complete the latest Team GO Rocket Special Research, The Higher They Fly…, to earn a Super Rocket Radar. This will help you track down the Team GO Rocket Boss and save Shadow Zapdos!

We’re hearing reports that Giovanni will have a different Shadow Pokémon in his grasp starting on Thursday, June 17, 2021. Keep a look out for further details in the coming weeks, Trainers!

June Research Breakthrough encounters

From Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. to Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), you’ll encounter Clamperl in Research Breakthrough encounters. As an extra bonus throughout this month, you will also receive a free Remote Raid Pass and twice the XP when you achieve a Research Breakthrough.

Double XP for Research Breakthroughs will continue throughout the upcoming season. Look forward to more details in our upcoming season announcement!

Featured Pokémon in raids

The following Legendary Pokémon will be appearing in five-star raids throughout June.

  • Regirock, Regice, and Registeel will be appearing in five-star raids from Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • From Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. local time a surprise Legendary Pokémon will be appearing in raids!

In addition, the following Mega-Evolved Pokémon will be appearing in Mega Raids.

  • Mega Lopunny will appear in Mega Raids from Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • Mega Slowbro will be making its Pokémon GO debut in Mega Raids from Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • Mega Gyarados will appear in Mega Raids from Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • From June 1, 2021, only one Pokémon will be appearing in Mega Raids at a time.

Every Wednesday in June, a Raid Hour event will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. The following Pokémon will be featured.

  • Wednesday, June 2, 2021: Regirock
  • Wednesday, June 9, 2021: Registeel
  • Wednesday, June 16, 2021: Regice
  • Wednesday, June 23, 2021: To be announced
  • Wednesday, June 30, 2021: To be announced

Pokémon Spotlight Hours

In the month of June, Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, and each of these hours will spotlight a different Pokémon and special bonus!

  • Tuesday, June 1, 2021: Dwebble will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon.
  • Tuesday, June 8, 2021: Abra will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
  • Tuesday, June 15, 2021: Slowpoke will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.
  • Tuesday, June 22, 2021: Swinub will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.
  • Tuesday, June 29, 2021: Aipom will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon.

June Community Day

Join us on Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time for a Community Day event featuring Gible, the Land Shark Pokémon! For more details, check out our June Community Day blog.

  • A Very Slow Discovery: From Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. through Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time, Galarian Slowpoke, Galarian Slowbro, and Mega Slowbro will make their Pokémon GO debuts! This event will be themed around lazy and active Pokémon and will include a Collection Challenge featuring Slowpoke and others!
  • Solstice Event: From Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. through Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time, our solstice-themed event is back! Trainers in the northern hemisphere will encounter summer-themed Pokémon, while Trainers in the southern hemisphere will encounter winter-themed Pokémon. Look out for more details on June 16, 2021!
  • ???: Trainers will be able to sink their two front teeth into an unexpected event from Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. through Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time!
