Meet our Champions at Pokémon GO World Championships!
Trainers,
The 2024 Pokémon GO World Championships are almost upon us! Before the action begins, check out some of the top Trainers from around the world whom we expect to make waves in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.
Doonebug97 (United States) is widely considered to be one of the best Trainers in the world. He has won more Regional Championships than any other Trainer (with four wins), including an unprecedented three wins in the 2024 season alone! Combining these dominant performances with a second-place finish at the European International Championships, Doonebug finished the season as the top-ranked Trainer worldwide. He was also the first player to ever achieve Legend rank in the GO Battle League.
Paulasha97 (Spain) has unmatched consistency as a top competitor, as she has finished in the Top 6 at five of her last six major tournaments. After a standout performance at April’s European International Championships, she was credited with popularizing Shadow Magnezone in both the Championship Series and the GO Battle League. Having finished in the Top 16 at the 2023 World Championships, Paulasha97 has already proven herself more than capable against the very best.
LNDsRargef (Brazil) is the only Trainer to ever complete a Championship Series tournament without losing a single game, accomplishing this at the Curitiba Regional Championships last September. His next appearance was at the Latin American International Championships in November, where he emerged victorious. As if these back-to-back wins weren’t impressive enough, LNDsRargef closed out the regular season by venturing overseas to the North American International Championships, where he finished in the Top 6.
Yacobervitch (Australia) is the undisputed king of Oceania. In 2023, he won the Oceania International Championships, losing only one game throughout the entire tournament. In 2024, he won two out of the three Regional Championships held in the region. Yacobervitch has also demonstrated himself to be an extremely flexible player, using 15 unique Pokémon in his three tournament wins.
CrescentAngels (Japan) has been one of the top Trainers in the world for many years. He is perhaps best known for his accomplishments in the GO Battle League, having reached the #1 spot on the global leaderboard in each of the last five Seasons. However, his prowess extends beyond the GO Battle League. He is the only Trainer from Japan who has qualified for every World Championships to date, and he finished in third place at the 2022 World Championships.
Don’t miss out on watching these talented Trainers and many more! You can catch all the action from Worlds live at twitch.tv/PokemonGO from August 16–18, 2024.
